Best AND Worst Edge Control For Natural Hair

Creme of Nature with Argan Oil - Perfect Edges
Dr.Miracles - Edge Holding Gel

I know for a fact I'm not the only Natural hair sister who's struggled with this problem. The first edge control youtube will recommend to you is the olive oil edge control. I fell for it and it was the worst decision I ever made.
They're so bad that they're not even worth taking pictures of. It just left a white residue or it either just turned into grease tbh.

So over the weekend I went to my local beauty supple store. It was a fairly new store and i just went in to see what they had in store. I then decided I will purchase an edge control as I recently purchased a lace front wig and i would have my edges to be nappy when I wear it.

Again, I didn't do my research as it was another impromptu shopping moment. I decided to ask the shopping assistant who by the way, hadn't even asked if I needed any help (I was the only customer in the store at that moment). I work in retail so I'm already thinking urm bad customer or what?

Anyway, I walk over to her and asked what the best edge control for natural hair was. She was so busy with her Ipad and without looking at me she said "well, everyone comes in to buy the olive oil edge control so buy that" to which I replied "it doesn't work well on my natural hair" and she basically just shrugged and said "well, that's what everyone buys" So I just walked off and picked these two edge controls and hoped one worked.

I'll start with the Dr Miracles Edge Holding Gel. Urgh. I love the way it feels. It's a gel but so different from the Olive oil. It just feels light and soft and it has a tropical smell. It's beautiful. It's blended with Jojoba Oil and also conditions your edges. I can honestly tell you, this edge control DOES control my edges...my 4c edges!!!......For about 10 minutes. Then it turns into an oily substance. I was so disappointed but overall I think it's a good product and might work very well in conjunction with other products.

About the Creme of Nature hair gel, I had seen a few youtube videos about it before but couldn't remember if they were positive or negative ones. It has Argan oil and it makes hair stronger and OH MY GOD! This is the winner!! It is indeed the perfect hold. My edges were intact for over 5 hours. How amazing is that? I will definitely be buying it again.

The only thing I don't particularly like about it is the chemical smell it has but it's not something I can't look past. As long as it does the job I'm good.
If you're a natural hair sister or brother and have been looking for a good edge control this is the one for you. I am however a 4c and 4b i think. My edges are mainly 4c and it works fine for me but that doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you But I will still recommend everyone to give it a shot.

Marie.
